This program is a bridge program between the High School Rowing program and the Junior Competitive team. Athletes are introduced to training programs and given an opportunity to learn more advanced rowing skills. The Junior Competitive Developmental program is geared towards providing athletes a smooth transition from the High School program to Competitive rowing. While no criteria is put in place to row with this program, athletes are introduced to the criteria imposed at the Junior Competitive level and are provided the skills required to reach that criteria. Emphasis is also put on more advanced rowing techniques, so a strong background of rowing basics is required. Athletes in this program will be invited to regattas in which there is a novice category, such as the Dartmouth Sprints. Those rowers that excel may be invited to join the Junior team at other regattas.
