The St. John’s Rowing Club will be running a brand new Adult Rowing Program in 2018!
The revised start date is July 2, 2018. The cost is $250 for the full season.
The Adult Rowing Program is open to any adults over 18 years of age who are interested in rowing. Adults with any level of experience are welcome to join this program, though it is primarily designed for novice and intermediate rowers. Beginning in the summer and running until late October, this program is a great way for individuals to learn the fundamentals of rowing, improve their skills, and remain active. For the more experienced rowers, there will also be opportunities to focus on more advanced technical skills, follow a more structured training plan, and aim to compete if interested.
Our programs go ahead rain or shine, so come prepared for the weather (we recommend dressing in layers)! If the coaches determine that it is too windy to row on a given day, there will be an alternate dryland training option provided (rowing machine session, running, or circuit exercises, for example).
Individuals will have the opportunity to attend at least two sessions per week, with planning being done in advance via Doodle polling once you have registered for the program. Possible session times for the summer include Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6:45-8pm, Tuesday and Friday mornings at 5:45-7:30am, and Sunday morning at 9-10:30am.
NOTE: Schedule may be revised throughout the season based on staff availability and participant interest.
