Junior Rowing Program

The Junior Rowing Program is designed for athletes aged 14-18 (birth year 2007-2011) who wish to develop their rowing skills, improve fitness, and experience the excitement of training as part of a team. This program welcomes both those who are new to the sport and those with previous rowing experience, offering structured coaching to build technical proficiency, general fitness, and race preparation. Junior rowers have the opportunity to participate in competitions outside of the province in the novice or junior categories, with training focused on developing strong fundamentals, cardiovascular fitness, and teamwork. Participants must have a strong swimming ability and must complete a swim test form at a local pool if under the age of 17.

Dates: Full season May to October (Canada Games break July 28th-August 15th, 2025).

Practices: 3-5 practices per week – see schedule page for more details.

Cost: $675 program fee plus Rowing Canada Aviron and Rowing Newfoundland annual membership dues ($56.40)
