The SJRC relies on Canada Summer Jobs and Provincial Grants to hire employees. As funding becomes available, jobs will be posted. Available positions for Spring/Summer/Fall 2025:
Rowing Coach (3-5 positions)
A Rowing Coach is responsible for the day-to-day coaching and implementation of program initiatives as directed by the SJRC and carry out in a manner consistent with SJRC club policies established by the Board of Directors. Working as a team, the Rowing Coaches will coordinate and supervise a team of rowing athletes to deliver quality programming for SJRC rowing participants.
Schedule: Part-time (May through to August, less than 30 hours/week, possible of extension until October)
Remuneration: $16.60/hour
Head Coach (1 position)
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Head Coach will provide rowing leadership to the Club as a whole. Working with a team of volunteer program coaches, the Head Coach will work towards excellence in athlete training, technical coaching and on the water performance to enhance results across all programs.
Schedule: Part-time, one year duration, May through to April, less than 15 hours/week.
Compensation: The Head Coach will be financially awarded with a monthly stipend to be negotiated with the successful applicant and paid by the Club on the last day of each month.
