The adult masters program provides rigorous training for experienced slide-seat rowers. In 2021 this program will offer four practices per week, beginning May 10 and continuing through late October (exact end date depends on weather). Practices will be on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday mornings and Friday evenings. Should weather conditions not permit on-water activities, we will have off-water workouts including dryland skills, boat basics, or fitness training, either at the boathouse or in the club’s erg facility. The cost for this program is $450, including mandatory membership in Rowing Canada and Rowing Newfoundland.
A swim test is not required for adult rowing programs; however upon joining you must confirm that you can swim well and will be comfortable if your boat flips and you find yourself in the water.
Please register online at Rowing Canada. For those who are new to rowing in Canada, detailed instructions on how to register are available here (registration is a bit complicated). Fees should be paid by e-transfer to [email protected] prior to your first practice. A registration cap will be applied at the discretion of SJRC administration, in accordance with rowing club capacity.
