Adult Masters is a competitive-based program for adults who want to train to compete in regattas (Masters category distance is typically 1000m). An emphasis is placed on physical conditioning, high performance rowing, and racing technique. Previous racing experience is desirable for this program, but it is not essential. Training partners or crews are welcome to join this program and will be accommodated when possible, but athletes should be aware that boat combinations are at the discretion of the coaches. This program follows the “Learn to Compete” and “Train to Compete” pathways, adjusted to meet athletes’ individual skill levels and level of competition experience.
Age: 19+ years
Practices: 4-5 sessions per week
Previous experience required: Athletes must have completed Learn to Row or equivalent slide seat rowing experience. Athletes who do not meet the requirements may still be eligible pending an assessment, conducted by coaching staff, on a case-by-case basis to determine appropriate program placement.
Should weather conditions not permit on-water activities, we will have off-water workouts at the club’s erg facility.
